[Ad] I'm so excited to share my first DT post for #cut_to_you!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share my first design team project for Cut to You with you all! This one is called Time for a New Adventure. For this one I started with one of the new cut files called ‘Butterfly Cluster' which is now available in the Cut to You shop and in the Etsy Store along with many other gorgeous files! This is a cut and stitch cutfile and was a lot of fun to work with! I started by positioning my cutfile on my page in Cricut Design Space and rotating it slightly as I knew I was going to use both parts of the sheet – the negative and the butterflies.

After cutting the cut file, I trimmed the white cardstock down by 1/4 inch on each side so that when I backed the whole sheet, there would be a small colour border popping out. Next, I hand stitched the butterfly trails in another shade of blue then it was time to start making the shaker pockets. I look the butterflies and cut them apart so that they were all separate and then backed them all with acetate.

I then went around each butterfly with adhesive foam to pop them up to give the page dimension and so that there was room for the sequins. I used wet glue to adhere the butterflies once I had placed sequins on the page where each butterfly would sit.

To break up the white space, used a paintbrush to splatter some watercolours around the butterflies. I then set about backing my photograph. I used some stripes, some zigzags and some bluey-green cardstock. I also added a small label at the bottom of the photo and some butterflies which I fussy cut from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness collection.

The last thing I needed to do was add my title. I found the word adventure in a pack of Thickers and added a small glossy ‘Time for a new’ sticker above it to complete the title. I added some small silver stars and that was me done!

There is a process video up on my YouTube Channel, Peartree Papercrafts, where you’ll find this and other layouts I have made using CUT to YOU Cut Files.

Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the shop and check out the other releases for this month!
